Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Randy Dilts will officiate.
Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.
Mrs. Pedersen was born June 14, 1929, near Dannevirke to Clarence and Marie (Moravec) Christensen.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Rod and Cathy Pedersen of Crete and Barry and Linda Pedersen of Hastings; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Tom Jorgensen of Seward and Denice and Gene Olnes of Wausa; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; one step grandson and three step great-granddaughters; and a sister-in-law, Audrey Christensen of St. Paul.
Arlene attended Scotia High School where she graduated in 1947.
She was united in marriage to Richard Pedersen on Oct. 10, 1949, in St. Paul.
The couple made their home in St. Paul.
Arlene worked for the telephone company, Dutton Lainson, Clayton Pedersen, the Howard County Clerk and most of all she was a mother and housewife.
Arlene was very involved in volunteer work for the community, helping with the Red Cross Bloodmobile, Howard County Election Board, American Cancer Society, Howard County Medical Center Auxiliary, quilting with many groups and helped as a quilting instructor.
She served as a Cub Scout and 4-H leader.
Arlene also served on the Dannevirke Church and Hall board, Great Plains Creative Arts Association as a member and president and the Goldenrod Conference Girl Scout Board.
Arlene was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Paul, where she served as the Women's Work Group coordinator, a MYF leader, and was a member of the United Methodist Women.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard on Nov. 16, 1991; a brother, Harlan Christensen; a sister and brother-in-law, Heloise and Dean Bresley; two nieces, Chris Bresley and Cheryl Naeve and a granddaughter-in-law, Phyliss Wells.
