Frances Katherine Bain Watson

Frances Katherine Bain Watson, 79, of Englewood, went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, Aug. 2, 2009, at NHC Health Care of Athens.

A native and resident of McMinn County for most of her life, she was the only daughter of the late Hugh and Jesse Rayburn Bain. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Watson on Jan. 20, 1996; her stepmother, Grace Bain; and two brothers, Ruel and Robert Bain. She was a member of Dixon Avenue Baptist Church, and was a wonderful and loved Christian mom and a friend to all who knew her.

Survivors include five sons and two daughters-in-law, Ray and Debbie Watson of Riceville, Bill Watson of Decatur, Doug and Dana Watson of Athens, Alvin "Pete" Watson of Englewood, and Allen "Rod" Watson and friend, Jane Cook, both of Tellico Plains; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Donny Sneed of Athens; grandchildren and their spouses, Audrey and Keith Garren, Eron Hughes, Sharon Bishop, Cody Watson, Angela Watson, Elijah Watson, Misty Beaty, Whitney Beaty, Hailey Beaty, Josh Watson, Caleb and Whitney Watson, Katherine Watson, Constance Watson, Mitchell Watson, Zachary Watson, Hugh and Dusty Sneed, Jeremy and Mitzi Sneed, Jessica Sneed and Julia Sneed; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ed Bain of Athens; one sister and brother-in-law, Dianne and Bill Constant of Englewood; five sisters-in-law, Evelyn Bain of Kingston, Jean Bain of Englewood, Edna Gibson of Gainesville, Ga., Hilda Edwards of Madisonville, and Hazel Watson of Tellico Plains; one brother-in-law, Chuck Stakely of Madisonville; close friends, Christine Taylor and Janice Burnette; and many other dear nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Wednesday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Watson officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday and proceed to Cochran Cemetery for an 11 a.m. burial, which will conclude with the White Dove Liberation Ceremony.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
