Beckley Couple's Service Wednesday

BECKLEY -- Joint service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday for James Clayton Acord, 66 and his wife, Nana Belle Acord, 58, of Route 4, Beckley, who were killed Saturday in an automobile accident on Interstate 81 in Christiansburg, Va.

Mr. Acord was a native of Raleigh County.

The couple is survived by sons, Bobby and William, both of Beckley; daughter, Mrs. Janet Harrah of Roanoak, Va.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Also surviving Mr. Acord are sisters, Mrs. Effie Dickens and Mrs. Lettie Dickens, both of Arnett, Mrs. Ferne Coneyer of Northridge, Calif.; half brothers, Jack of Rock Creek, Ivan of Stickney; half sisters, Lettie of Rock Creek, Nancy of Arnett, Judy of Dry Creek.

Mrs. Acord also is survived by brothers, Omer Acord of Arnett, Darl Acord of Cleveland, Ohio; sister, Mrs. Wavie Miller of Shady Spring.

Service at Melton Funeral Home, Beckley, will be officiated by the Rev. Wade Webb. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Rock Creek. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today.
