Rose E. Allen, 87, of Marathon, RD 2, died Thursday morning in Wilson Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 10, 1896, the daughter of Joseph and Lillian Storey. She lived in the area most of her life. Her husband, Elwyn Allen, died in 1971. Surviving are a son Clyde "Jack" Allen of Cortland; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law; a foster son, Gerald Smith of Marathon; two sisters, Edith Wood and Agnes Cherchio, both of Cortland; and several nieces and nephews.
