Cortland - Richard L. Allen, 53, of Hoxie's Gorge, Marathon RD 3, died Thursday at Cortland Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Earle W. Wright Funeral Home, the Rev. Elliott Caldwell officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Blodgett Mills. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Surviving are his parents, Elwyn and Rose Storey Allen, of Marathon RD 2; his wife, Mrs. Mildred McConnell Allen; a daughter, Miss Barbara Anne Allen of Marathon RD 3; four sons, Milton of Blodgett Mills, Carl of Marathon RD 3, Raymond of Dryden, and Clifford of McGraw; two brothers, Robert Allen of McGraw and Clyde Allen of Marathon RD 2; eight grandchildren.
Mr. Allen was a truck driver and a life resident of the area.
Friends may make contributions to the Cortland County Health Association Respiratory Disease Research Fund.
