Brother of Area Residents Dies In Jonesboro

Funeral services for Velton Bedgood, 57, of Jonesboro, were held at 3 p.m.
Saturday at Yankee Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. A. S. Davis
officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of
Jonesboro.

Mr. Bedgood died at 2 p.m. Friday, May 31, 1968 in a Jonesboro hospital after
a brief illness. He was a mechanic.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Izzie Mae Bedgood, Jonesboro; one son,
Velton Bedgood, Jr., Baton Rouge; his father, Allan A. Bedgood, Jonesboro;
three brothers, Ozie L. Bedgood, Colfax, George Bedgood and Raymond Bedgood,
all of Goldonna; one sister, Mrs. T. A. Young, Jonesboro; three stepdaughters,
Mrs. Odessa Lucky, Cotton Valley, Mrs. June Watts and Mrs. Joyce Plunkett,
both of Jonesboro; and two grandchildren.
