Lucy E. Tobey
Mrs. Lucy Edith TOBEY, 97, formerly of 1019 Wabash avenue, died Wednesday at 11:40 a.m. at the Rochester nursing home. She had resided there since August 1979. She had been in failing health several years.
Mrs. Tobey was born Aug. 24, 1882 near Green Oak to Frencis Marian and Lois SMITH PORTER. She was a lifetime resident of Fulton county, except for several years in Cass county. She was married Nov. 4, 1905 to Victor TOBEY, who died Sept. 18, 1955. She was a member of the Rochester Church of Christ, Newcastle township Farm Bureau, Patriotic club, Better Homes club, WCTU, and the Senior Citizens organization.
Surviving sare a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy HORN, and a son, Howard TOBEY, both of Rochester; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. A brother, four sisters, a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter preceded in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Rochester Church of Christ with the Revs. Gary MacDONALD and James DAVISON officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the Foster & Good funeral home from 4-9 p.m. today and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and at the church one hour prior to services.
