Seneca R. Benfield, of No. 1449 Linden street, a retired miller, died yesterday at 2 o'clock after a year's illness with internal cancer, aged 47 years. The funeral will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Funeral services will be conducted at his late home by Rev. J. N. Blatt, of Shimersville. Interment will be made in Greenwood Cemetery.

Deceased was a son of Abraham and Lucinda Benfield, and was born at Bechtelsville, Berks county. He had been living in this city for the past seven years, having moved here from Huff's Church. He is survived by his wife, Ellen A.; two children, Mrs. Gustave Koehler and Clayton Benfield, of this city; two brothers, Abraham, of Allentown, and Frank, Huff's Church; and four sisters, Mrs. Reuben Moll, Siesholtzville; Mrs. Allen Fisher, Huff's Church; Mrs. John Reysnider and Mrs. Milton Gearhart, of Bechtelsville. Deceased was a member of the Reformed wing of Huff's Church, Eschbach Council, No. 1019, I.O.A., of Eschbach, and Algonquin Lodge, No. 47, O. of I.
