Maria Dorothea Jensen Chilton Times December 7, 1872

Mrs. Maria Dorothea Jensen of New Holstein, wife of H. P. Jensen, Esq. late County Treasurer, died at her residence in New Holstein on the 4th, inst. Aged 55 years. Her disease was inflammation of the lungs.
She was born in 1817 at Lutgenhorn, Duchy of Schleswig, emigrated to New Holstein about the year 1853 with her husband and children, where she has since resided, excepting the two years she lived at the county seat. She was a true woman in every respect, and her loss will not only be felt in her own immediate family circle, but by the community at large, as her counsel and example had great weight in framing the mind and action of all young persons who came in contact with her and the fruit of her sound, motherly advice are shown by the example her children and grand children set to the world at large. She has never been known to be accused of an unworthy act or thought, her whole aim in life coming to be in doing good and conferring kindness upon all with whom she was acquainted, when it was in her power to do so; and thus, double, is the dear departed woman's loss deplored. We can find no proper words to express the sympathy felt for her bereft partner in this trying hour of distress, coming so soon as it was after the loss of his eldest son whom our readers will remember was recently crushed by the cars at Milwaukee. Time alone can heal the old gentleman's heart wounded feeling, and the feeling of the bereft sons and daughters.
The sons names are Emil and Charles, the daughters are Mrs. Wm Paulsen of Chilton, Mrs. Chas. Heins and Mrs. Mohr, of Kiel.
