Funeral services for Erma Lee Duckworth, 78, of Lockney were held Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at the West College and Third Street Church of Christ in Lockney. Steve McLean officiated and Elgin Conner assisted. Burial was in the Dodson Cemetery under the direction of Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Lockney.

Mrs. Duckworth died Sunday, September 18, 2005 at Lubbock Heart Hospital.

She was born October 28, 1926 in Collingsworth County to the late Gilbert Edwin and Ruth Mae Royal Hunt. She married Frank Duckworth on November 3, 1946 in Dallas. They moved to Lockney from Muleshoe in June of 1966. She was a talented singer and loved Gospel music. As a young woman in Dallas, she sang with a quartet on the radio. She was an inspiration to her family and church. Over the years Erma Lee was a girl scout leader, den mother, doctor, nurse, chauffeur, seamstress, baseball mom, counselor, a great cook, and of course, mother.

She was preceded in death by one son, Reed Edwin Duckworth; one daughter, Ruth Ann Conner and four brothers, Elba, Howard, Dale and Kenneth Hunt.

Survivors include her husband, three sons, Robert Duckworth and wife Vickey of Seattle, Washington, Randy Duckworth and wife Becky of Longmont, Colorado, Ricky and wife Karla of Castle Rock, Colorado; one brother, Vance Hunt of Dodson; one sister, Marilyn Garton of Hollis, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be made to the West College and Third Street Church of Christ, P.O. Box 217, Lockney, Texas, 79241.
