Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Dodson Church of Christ with Edwin Bonneau and Gene Shelburne officiating. Burial will be in Dodson Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Hunt was born May 2, 1931, in Dodson, the fourth of seven children to Gilbert Edwin Hunt and Ruth May Royal Hunt. He married Elizabeth Joy on Aug. 28, 1951, in Dallas.
He graduated from Dodson High School in 1948. He moved to Dallas to attend Young Arts School after which he was employed by the Dallas office of Library Bureau, a division of Remington Rand Corp. He began as a draftsman then moved to sales and eventually became the national director of sales. In 1979, Vance left the company to attend Bible college to become a minister. He graduated and worked with the college until 1984, when he started his successful business in library sales.
On June 2, 2007, Vance suffered a massive brain hemorrhage, struggling until June 7, when he went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by Elba, Howard, Billy Dale Hunt, Erma Lee Duckworth and Kenneth Hunt.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Hunt; three sons, Steve Hunt and wife Marina of Del Rio, Alan Hunt and wife Shamin of Dallas and John Hunt and wife Kim of Arlington; a sister, Marilyn Garton of Hollis, Okla.; and 10 grandchildren, Christie Hunt, Odaliz, Evelyn and Melba Hunt, Jeremy and Brian Hunt and Austin, Brett, Cara and Daphne Hunt.
The family suggests memorials be to the Dodson Cemetery Association or Dodson Church of Christ.
