James "BILL" Battles, 61, of Van Buren died Saturday at his home. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the First Baptist Church of Van Buren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday (April 28, 1980) at Ocker Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Gill Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred; one daughter, Sharon Oliver of Alma; one son, Bill of Alma; his mother, Mrs. Era Battles of Van Buren; three sisters, Frankie Shibley of Van Buren, Beatrice Dyer of Santa Maria, California, and Merrel Turner of Atlanta, Texas; two brothers, Raymond of Van Buren and Junior of Mulberry, and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Shibley, Scott and Garry Trotter, Jim Battles, Donald Core, Johnny Turner, and Robbie Dyer.
