PIONEER DIES AT AGE OF NINETY-ONE
Mrs. Sevilla Dudley, of 142 Fremont avenue, one of Springfield's oldest pioneers, who had witnessed the growth and industrial development of the city from the year 1833, succumbed at 7:25 o'clock Wednesday night at her daughter's home, aged 91 years. Death was due to old age.
Mrs. Dudley, when a girl of 12 years, came here with her parents. They drove to Springfield in an old country wagon, and settled on property now occupied by the Thomas Manufacturing company.
Mrs. Dudley married Thomas Dudley, a coal dealer, who died 22 years ago. She was the grandmother of Sergeant Wilbur Evans, of the police force, and is survived by six children, Mrs. Chas. Evans, Pierson Dudley, Mrs. Horace Hansell, Mrs. Harry Hauer, all of this city, Mrs. Truman Bugbee, of Chicago and Mrs. Edward Wolf, of Dayton.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence and burial will be made at Ferncliff cemetery.
