William Michael Gebhard, son of Andreas Gottlieb and Anna (Braun) Gebhard, was born at Huffman Mills, Spencer County, Indiana, March 19, 1892 and departed this life August 16, 1967, at the Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital, Owensboro, Ky, at the age of 75 yrs, 4 mo, and 28 days. He spent his entire life in Huffman Mills vicinity. Sept. 15, 1910, he married Agnes Miller, and to this union were born one daughter and three sons. Wife Agnes and daughter Elizabeth preceded him in death. On Feb. 28, 1938, he married Bertha (Heckel) Broshear. Mr. Gebhard was a farmer, and a member of Larkin Baptist Church. He will be sadly missed by those with whom he came in contact, because of his cheery smile, pleasing personality, and willingness at all times to lend a helping hand in time of need. Surviving to cherish him in fond memories are: his wife Bertha; three sons, Andreas Franklin of Grandview, and William Robert and Harry Lee of Newburgh; one stepson, Robert J. Broshear of North Hollywood, CA; two sisters, Amelia of Rockport, and Anna Maggie Haenggi of Olney, IL; identical twin brother John Conrad of Lafayette, IN; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a multitude of loyal friends.
