"Charles B. Fero died at his home in Charleston-4-Corners Sunday afternoon Feb. 25th, at 5 o'clock. Mr. Fero was born in the town of Charleston Sept. 16, 1833. His parents were David Fero and Rene Walker Fero. About one year ago his health began to fail and although medical aid had been sought from different physicians his decline was gradual until the end, which came as a result of a complication of diseases. He was of a sunny disposition always looking on the bright side of life and was a kind and loving father. He will be greatly missed in his community. He was an earnest Christian and a member of the Methodist church at Sloansville. He is survived by his wife and four children: Mrs. Jennie Fonda, Gloversville; Mrs. Alfred Stokes, Johnstown, and John B. Fero and Charles H. Fero of Sloansville. His only sister, Mrs. Andrew Allen of Poplar Ridge, Cayuga county, died on Tuesday, Feb. 27th, following his death. They had often expressed the wish that they might die at the same time and it was almost literally fulfilled as their deaths occurred within two days of each other. Funeral services were held in the Christian church Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., conducted by the Methodist pastor of Sloansville, Rev. F. G. Heaxt. Burial at Charleston-4-Corners ..."
