Affeldt, Caroline

Caroline Krueger was born to Robert and Lydia (Zastrow) Krueger on January 19, 1931 in Leaf Valley, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Leaf Valley. Caroline attended country school in Leaf Valley and Central High School in Alexandria.

Caroline was united in marriage to Roger Affeldt on November 3, 1948 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church. The couple raised two sons, Donovan and Brian. Caroline was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her husband, children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She also enjoyed her plants and flowers.

Caroline was taken on angel's wings to the Lord on December 18, 2008 at the age of seventy-seven years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lydia Krueger, Sr.; husband, Roger Affeldt; sisters Gloria Jensen and Yvonne Krueger; grandson, Matthew Krone; and sister-in-law, Eileen Krueger.

Caroline is survived by her sons, Donovan Affeldt and wife, Janine, of Brooklyn park, MN and Brian Affeldt of Alexandria; grandchildren, Jamie Affeldt, Adam Affeldt, Chandra (Affeldt) Russo, Christine Affeldt, Tristan Affeldt, Keith Krone and Alyssa Francis; great-grandchildren, Alexis Russo and Paige Russo; sisters, Ione Kreft of Alexandria and Genevieve Huss and husband, Wendell, of Delano, MN; brothers, Robert Krueger, Jr. of Nelson, MN and Dennis Krueger and wife, Marilyn, of Burson, CA; and many nieces and nephews. Her loving family and many friends will miss her.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Rev. Mark Astrup will officiate and Kim Byrne will provide music. Interment will be in Kinkead Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers include all of Caroline's grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
