On December 25th, 1854 she was united in marriage to Cyril Taylor and passed away at the home of her son in this city Thursday, January 27, 1921, aged 81 years, 3 months, and 17 days.
In the death of Mrs. Taylor a pioneer is taken to her reward. Nearly three quarters of a century is passed since this Canadian girl came to our community residing with her parents at Bourbonnais and then at Momence. She has been a part of this community these long years and but for a few of those who were her associates in those early days remain. Marrying at an early age she as a mother has made a remarkable contribution to the life of this community and wears a bright crown of motherhood. Seventeen children the jewels in this crown. To these must be added forty-one grandchildren and to these eighteen great grand children. Thus seventy-six children are her gifts to the world.
She was united in marriage by the celebrated priest Father Chenniquy (sic) and enjoying that independence of mind and spirit incident to those early days she chose to be numbered with those who waited upon his spiritual ministry.
She was a good wife and mother and cherished to the close of her life the Christine doctrine which she ? by a faithful and patient life and peaceful death.
The children are as follows: Jeddi Taylor, Harvey Ill.; Mrs. Joseph Weist, Sheldon, Ill.; Mrs. S. M. Alexander, Aurora; Jule, Edward and Moses Taylor, of this city; Mrs. Edward Palmer, South Bend, Ind.; Mrs. P. J. Cummings, Tuscola.
