Aged And Well Known Lady Buried Tuesday At Glenwood

Enjoyed Family Reunion Last August.

Mrs. Doctor C. Brown died at her home at Glenwood Monday morning of influenza and pneumonia. She had been ill only a short time.

Funeral services and burial were held at Glenwood Tuesday afternoon with Revs. D. J. Hunt and A. P. Sorrels in charge. The church was filled with sorrowing friends and relatives.

Mrs. Brown was 81 years and 11 months old. She is survived by her husband and fourteen children, as follows: Mrs. Alice Searcy, near Hendersonville! Mrs. Hester Williams, Munford Cove section; Mrs. Amanda Williams, near Rutherfordton; Rev. J. M. Brown, well known Baptist minister, of Nealsville; Mrs. Carrie Hensley, Nealsville; Miss Louise Brown, trained nurse at home; William F. Brown, Marion; John R. Brown, Marion; Mrs. Laura Wood, Virginia; Thos. S. Brown, Seattle, Washington; Yates Brown, Asheville; Mrs. W. M. Wilson, near Marion, and Briscoe Brown, Imola, Cal.

Thirty grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive. All the children were present for the funeral except the two sons who are in the far West.

Two brothers, Messrs. Elijah Frady of the Munford Cove section and Tom Frady, of Chimney Rock and three half-sisters, Mrs. Bonie Barnett, Spartanburg, S. C.; Mrs. John Wilson, Birmingham, Ala., and Mrs. Salena, in Asheville, survive.

Mrs. Brown was a devoted member of the Baptist church for 67 years. She was kind to one and all and was a good mother. All her children were at home last Aug. 5 for a family reunion at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Wilson, Sugar Hill, McDowell county.

She is the daughter of the late Col. I. M. Frady, well known Confederate veteran. All her children are doing well in life.
