HENDERSONVILLE, April 29--
Mrs. Alice Elizabeth Brown Searcy, 88, of Hendersonville RFD 1, died this morning at her home after a long illness.

She was a native of Polk but had lived most of her life in Henderson County.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, The Rev. L. K. Holbert, the Rev. M. M. Goss and the Rev. O. M. Hopkins will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

The body will remain at Thomas Shepherd Funeral Home until it is taken to the church to lie in state for an hour prior to services.

Surviving are five sons, Sam, Bob, Jeter and Ralph of Hendersonville and the Rev. John Searcy of Hartsville, Ga.; four daughters, Mrs. Sally Metcalf, and Misses Maude, Lillian and Blanche Searcy, all of Hendersonville; three sisters, Mrs. Ada Wilson, Mrs. Laura Wood and Miss Louise Brown, B. C. of California, Sank of Washington and Z. Y. of Asheville; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
