DEATHS
    Hilding W. Anderson, 95, of Hiawatha, died Feb. 8, 1991, at the Oak Ridge Acres Nursing Home, Hiawatha.
    Hilding was born May 10, 1895, on Oland Island, Kaslosa, Sweden to Nils and Augusta Hanson Anderson.
    He came to this country at the age of 15 to live and work with his brother, who was staying the Tablor home near Hiawatha, Kan.
    He married Blanche Tablor on April 29, 1918, in Falls City, Neb. She preceded him in death on Sept. 29, 1960.
    After he came to Hiawatha, he began his farming career. Hilding was to farm the rest of his life in the Hiawatha area. Hilding enjoyed fishing in the Hiawatha area.
    He had written a book, "My Life," which went into detail about his experiences as an emigrant and later as a U.S. citizen. He was a member of the Bethany United Church of Christ, and a member of The Masonic Lodge No. 35, AF&AM, both of Hiawatha.
    He later married Alice Lydick Hanson on Aug. 25, 1962, in Holton, Kan. She survives of the home.
    Hilding is also survived by a daughter, Rosalie Ploeger of Morrill, Kan.; a step-daughter, Joan McDaniel of Topeka, Kan.; a step-son Gerald Hanson of Huntsville, Ala.; and a sister, Greta Olsen of Sweden; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; five step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.
    Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 11, 1991, at the Bethany United Church of Christ, Hiawatha, Kan. Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha.
