SUSAN BYRD JONES - JONESBOROUGH
Susan Byrd Jones, age 57, 812 Allison Drive, Jonesborough, formerly of Erwin, died unexpectedly Sunday, July 26, 2009, in Jonesborough.
Mrs. Jones was known for her friendly nature and love of laughter. She loved her family and friends and will be sorely missed.
She was a daughter of the late Bascom and Lela Pierce Tipton.
Mrs. Jones was a lifelong Erwin resident until moving to Jonesborough in April of this year.
She attended The Fountain of Life Bible Church, Boones Creek.
Mrs. Jones enjoyed antiques, particularly antique dolls.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel Jones; daughter, Michelle Byrd, Erwin; son, Jason Byrd, Rachelle and granddaughter Lela, Johnson City; five sisters, Ellen McCurry and Billie McCurry, both of Erwin, Betty Peterson and Lzona Jennings, both of Jonesborough, and Peggy Cox, Satellite Beach, Fla.; brother, Mose Tipton, Flag Pond; aunt, Mosella Calloway, Elizabethton; andseveral nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 31,at 10:30 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery with Dr. Vic Young officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Anthony Jennings, Justin Jennings, Jeff Peterson, Gabrien Gouge, Craig Jones, Don Jones, Doug Jones and Ronnie Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Todd McCurry, Shannon McCurry and Travis Tipton.
Family, minister, pallbearers and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery by 10:20 a.m. Friday. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel.
