Mrs. Dewit Briggs died suddenly of heart disease at her home in this place last Thursday. She had been in poor health for some time, but was not considered in dangerous condition. She lived on the place where she was born and brought up. She will be remembered as a kind and obliging neighbor. She leaves six daughters and a son, besides a husband to mourn her loss. The family has the sympathy of all in their bereavement. Philip Briggs and sister of New York city, Ira Evans and wife and Claud Cornell and wife of Oneonta, were here to attend the funeral of their mother, Mrs. Briggs, last Saturday.
