Mr. Delano died unexpectedly the preceding Wednesday night at his home following a sudden heart attack.
Rev. Maurice Mullan officiated at the mass and burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Delano is survived by his wife, Rose and one son Edward of Eagle Grove, two daughters Mrs. Ernhart Malmin of Oakland, Calif., and Mrs. Earl Benton of Holmes. Other survivors are his father, M. E. Delano, three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Hazel Mayes, Mrs. Genevieve Cook, Clarion, Mrs. Lorene Harlow of Hammond, Minn. Russell Delano of Dows, Victor Delano of Galt, and Alfred Delano of Clarion.
Hugh Delano was born in Clarion April 2, 1898, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Delano. In 1920 he moved to Stacyville. In the spring of 1923 Mr. and Mrs. Delano came to Eagle Grove where Mr. Delano was employed on the Johnson Brothers farm until 1950. That year Mr. Delano bought his own farm west of Eagle Grove, where the family resides.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic church, the Knight's of Columbus, and affiliated with the Fourth Degree of that order.
