Born in Oswego NY, she and her parents moved to Porter,Niagara County NY when she was 2 years old. She lived there for 55 years. After the death of her husband, she followed her children to Michigan and was a resident of Greenville for over 21 years.

"When my mother was a young girl, Aunt Margaret Ann Morris, Grandfather's eldest sister, lived a little north of Grandfather's home on the opposite side of the road. Aunt Ann had a large family of boys and girls." (Anna Hayward Merritt Vol 11, page 35) "Uncle Daniel's family and the family of a sister, Margaret Ann Morris, were affected by the Civil War. In each family a son was lost and those who did return home had suffered both mentally and physically from their hard experiences." (Anna Hayward Merritt Vol 11, page 31)

The Greenville (Michigan) Daily Call said "Morris. _ Margaret Ann Morris, an honored member of the Methodist Episcopalian Church for more than a half a century, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. C. W. Passage, in Greenville, Michigan, March 24, 1896." according to a quoted obituary in the Greenville Daily Call (Anna Hayward Merritt Vol 11, page 74).
