John H. Currie, age 84 years, died yesterday morning, at the home of his son Thomas, north of town. Funeral will be held from the home today, burial in Bass cemetery.

Dr. John H. Currie was born August 7, 1827, at Crawfordsville, Ind., and departed this life January 16, 1912.
In 1849, at the old homestead near Crawfordsville, Ind., he was married to Achash N. Currie and to this union six children were given, two sons and four daughters. The four daughters have preceded him, with his wife, who passed into the future February 4, 1898. In 1856, Dr. Currie with his wife became members of the Christian church in Whitman, Mo. He was a successful physician, practicing medicine over fifty years. For the past three years he has made his home with his son Thomas, a mile north of Mitchell.
Funeral services was held at the late home, conducted by H. A. Wingard, assisted by R.R. Bryan.
Son of Providence Montz and Amanda (Hill) Currey.
In 1849 he married Miss Achsah Thompson, daughter of Daniel and Lucy (Nicholls) Thompson.
