OBITUARY

Violet Viola Palmer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Palmer, was born eight miles south of Friend on a farm on March eighth, 1913, where she lived with her parents until the time of her recent illness which resulted in death. In order to be where she could have regular medical attention, her parents brought her to Friend where she was cared for by loving friends. All efforts to overcome the disease proved unavailing and on the morning of May 22, the life slipped out and the little daughter was here no more for God had called her. Her illness was of a short duration, only about three weeks, tho she had appeared to be ailing for some weeks before her condition was known to be serious. Her death was the result of acute Bright's disease.' Her age was 12 years, 2 months and 21 days.

She was preceded in death by a brother some years ago, and leaves to mourn her loss her fond parents; an older sister, Dorothy, and two brothers, Lee and Ray, besides her grandparents and a large number of other relatives. She was an affectionate and obedient little daughter and a child whose place will not be filled by any other.

"Wherefore should I make my moan,
Now the darling child is dead?
She to rest is early gone
She to Paradise is fled.
I shall go to her but she
Never shall return to me.
God forbids her longer stay,
God recalls the precious loan.
He hath taken her away
From my bosom to his own,
Surely what He wills is best;
Happy in His will I rest.
Faith cries out "It is the Lord."
Let Him do what seems him good,
Be thy holy name adored,
Take the gift awhile bestowed;
Take the child no longer mine,
Thine she is forever thine."
