Merle Palmer Passes Away

Merle Palmer the oldest child of Cora and Nelson Palmer, was born July 17, 1900, in Saline county (sic) near Friend and departed this life March 14, 1913, being 12 years, 7 months and 27 days of age. Although an invalid all his life, he was a patient and cheerful sufferer. We learn from his life the needed lesson of being content with our lot in life. Merle will be missed by his many friends and relatives, both old and young, two sisters, one brother and a loving father and mother who spared no pains or means in caring for their invalid boy until death came to his relief. We say good night, as it were, with the blessed assurance and hope of meeting him on the morning of resurrection. Our loss is his eternal gain.

Funeral service held at the home on Sabbath morning at ten o'clock, conducted by the Rev. J. D. Lamb assisted by the Rev. S. R. Wild. Interment in the Andrew cemetery (sic).
