Married Johanna Jane Clinch at Saint Cecelia's RC Church, Sheldon, Wyoming County, New York.
They lived for a short time in Java, New York. Moved from New York to Walnut, Crawford County, Kansas in 1869.
After the migration to the "Far West" the Georges' that remained in New York held family reunions each year. Daughter Anna George Westhoff received invitations for years from relatives in that area. The reunions were held until 1942 when they discontinued on account of gasoline shortage brought on by World War II and were never organized again. Not only did they raise their own large family but several children made their home on the George farm. Family traits lean toward warm hearted, family minded people, caring for others as they cared for their own. Five children died in infancy. Farmed 5 miles east and 1.5 miles south of St. Francis Church, St. Paul, Kansas.
