JOHHNY E SHROYER HYNDMAN, Pa. Johnny Edward Shroyer, 67, of Comps Road, Hyndman, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.

Born Aug. 13, 1932, in Comps Corner, he was a son of the late Nathaniel and Lucy Irene (Emerick) Shroyer. He also was preceded in death by one brother, Marshall E. Shroyer; and one sister, Sarah (Shroyer) Ours. Mr. Shroyer is survived by his wife of more that 40 years, Ruby Viola (Emerick) Shroyer; one son, Bernard L. and wife Brenda, Comps; four daughters, Tereca L. Shaffer and husband George, Vickie K. Romesburg and husband Michael, Joann M. Sheirer and husband Douglas, and Tracey Logsdon and husband Jeffrey, all of Comps; two sisters, Shirley Chaney, Hyndman, and Betty Scritchfield, Stringtown; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Mr. Shroyer served as a corporal in Company B of the 578th Engineering Battalion of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for the Celanese Corp., Cumberland, for 17 years, after which he worked as a heavy equipment operator for 3-S Coal, Stoystown, until his retirement. Mr. Shroyer attended Comps Church, and was a member of the Kennells Mill Sportsman's Club.

Memorial services will be conducted at Comps Church on Saturday, Nov. 27, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Edward Shockey officiating.

Inurnment will be in the Comps Church Cemetery. Military honors will be conferred by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard. The Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, is in charge of arrangements.
