Ludwig Ache was born March 27, 1762, in Marlborough Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, son of Johann Herman and Maria Paulina Puff Ache. He was also the grandson of Johann Valentine and Anna Maria Elizabeth Puff. Circa 1785, he married his wife Mary, probably the daughter of Paul and Maria Barbara Muller Brodt. They were the parents of 9 known children: Elizabeth, Jacob, Susanna, John, Margaret, Maria Magdalena, Catharina, Christina and Michael Ache. Ludwig passed away December 11, 1844, in Lower Saucon Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, and was buried in Lower Saucon Cemetery there.
