Miss Alma Boeckmann, daughter of Mr and Mrs Gustav Boeckmann, was born in Douglas township, Bremer county, July 11, 1894. On August 5 she was christened in St John's Evangelical church at Siegel, Rev Klein officiating. Her parents later moved to Tripoli, where she was confirmed in St Peter's Evangelical church March 24 by Rev Schlueter, and here she grew to womanhood. She was taken sick about January 6, with influenza, which later developed into pueumonia, of which she died Tuesday evening at 10:30, January 14, at the age of 24 years, 6 months and 3 days.
Her death is mourned by her parents and two brothers, John and Erwin Boeckmann, of Tripoli: two aged grandmothers, Mrs Minnie Schultz, of Tripoli, and Mrs Wm Hoth of Waterloo, and other relatives also survive. One sister Hilda Boeckmann, died fifteen years ago.
Funeral services were held from the residence Friday Jan 17, at 1:30 o'clock and interment was made in St Peter's Evangelical cemetery, Rev Emil Stech officiating.
