Bio below provided by Mary Lee Sterling, LittleBird Find A Grave ID 47815131.
༻❁ Arthur Hammock "Art" Derr was born November 9, 1877 in Baltimore, Baltimore County, Maryland and was the son of Noah and Henrietta Gorsuch Derr. When Arthur was a young child his parents moved the family to Clark County, Ohio where Art married Grace Adele Rust in 1900.
Known children of Arthur and Grace Rust Derr:
1) Esther "Esta", born 1902, Ohio;
2) Alfred Henry "Al" Derr, born February 9, 1904 in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio; death March 30, 1996 in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio; married Lucile V. Riley Derr. Known children of Al and Lucille: Luci Belle Derr Shore born June 4, 1939 in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio; death on July 7, 1997, Springfield, Clark County, Ohio; married Paul DeWayne Shore born August 10, 1938, Indiana; death May 19, 2001 Ohio, son of Fred Conrad and Alice Green Shore.
NOTE: Here my mom Meriel Steinberger Sterling use to tell me the story, and now her brother, my uncle, John William "Jack" Steinberger continues it, how Al and Lucille would come over to visit with their little daughter Luci Belle who had a fuzzy dog (I think a Westy, but I won't swear to the type of dog, and this was when Lucy Belle was little.)
They would buy her an ice cream cone and Luci Belle would sit on the porch licking her ice cream w/ her dog. I have been told they both were so cute. Luci Belle would take a lick of ice cream and the dog would take a lick. She was so cute w/ her puppy that no one could scold her.
3) Glendon Oliver "Glen" Derr born April 23, 1906 Springfield, Clark County, Ohio; death in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio; married Thelma (?) Derr. No known children.
4) Harold A. "Harry" Derr September 18, 1909 in Blue Ridge, Piatt County, Illinois; death March 17, 1991 in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio; married Ruth E. Voris Derr born December 22, 1908; death March 16, 1972 in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio.
Known Children of Harold and Ruth Derr:
A) Joyce Esta Derr, born January 19, 1930, Springfield, Clark County, Ohio; death June 26, 2012, Springfield, Clark County, Ohio; Married Jack D. McMullen;
B) Zona Gail Derr, born September 9, 1933, Lawrenceville, Clark County, Ohio; Married: Mr. Castle.
5) Margaret G. Derr Dunham born October 12, 1917, Harris Township, Fulton County, Illinois; death August 27, 1985 in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio; married Lester P. Dunham the son of David and Naomi Dunham born November 14, 1905, Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio; death February 2, 1982, Springfield, Clark County, Ohio.
GG~Uncle Art was drafted for both WW I and WW II and worked as a laborer. He and his wife Grace had moved the family near his brother James who lived in Illinois. They stayed there for a time where he worked in a rubber factory and then moved back to Springfield, Clark County, Ohio. Here in his later years Art worked for the Crowell-Collier Publishing Company driving a truck to deliver the popular publications of the day. He drove truck and my Grandpa Ralph Steinberger, his nephew, worked one of the printing presses. This provided bread on the table and a great variety of reading material in their homes. GG~Uncle Art was the last of Noah and Henrietta's children to pass away on April 15, 1944.

May our beloved Arthur rest in heavenly peace.
