Lilly and James reared the three youngest children of their daughter Elizabeth after she died. Her oldest daughter remained in Indiana with an aunt. When there son William died in January 1876 his children were taken in by their grandparents. The baby was cared for and reared by her McQuerry Grandparents, mainly Lilly, as James died December 1876. The two older children went to live with their Little Grandparents.
Lilly died in 1888.
