William married Sarah Little, daughter of Abraham and Nancy (Ellsworth) Little. They were parents of three children: Jacob m. Isora Loe, Phoeba m. Charles Duncan and Polly Jane "Jennie" m. Lemuel Jasper Melton.

Sadly, both William and Sarah died before 1880, leaving their three young children. Jacob and Phoeba lived with their Little grandparents, Abraham and Nancy (Ellsworth) Little and Polly with her grandmother McQuerry, Lillian (Scott) McQuerry.
