RITES TO BE HELD FOR JOHN E CHAPPELL, JR.
John Edgar Chappell, Jr., 37 a building superintendent, who lived at 7401 52nd Court, North, died Friday. Born in Birmingham, Mr. Chappell was employed by Union Carbide Co.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Marguerite Chappell; a daughter, Jane; a son, Larry, all of Birmingham; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John E. Chappell, Sr. two brothers, C.E. Chappell, and H.R. Chappell, Bessemer; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Nell O'Neal and Mrs. Arelia Benefield, both of Birmingham, and two nieces and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Johns Ridout's Church Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Ledford and the Rev. O.G. Waide officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
Serving as active pallbearers will be J. E. McCombs, C.C. Richards, Raymond Rogers, J.W. Wood, Henry Davis, Beaty Hanna, L.M. Wessinger and Hardy Oakes.
