Arlie Emert departed this life on Friday, July 30, 2004 at the age of 93 years.
He was born on September 4, 1910 in Floyd County, Texas to Fredrick Thomas and Nancy Catherine Emert. He married Juanita Breeland on March 5, 1939 in Matador. He was a life long resident of Floydada and was a farmer until he retired in 1972. He was a member of the Doughtery School Board in the 1940s.
He was preceded in death by his wife on October 22, 2003.
He is survived by one son, Mike Emert and wife Linda of Amarillo; one daughter, Arlene Emert of Coulterville, California. Other survivors include numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services were at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 2, 2004 at the Moore-Rose-White Memorial Chapel in Floydada with Reverend Tommy Ewing, officiating. Burial was in the Floydada Cemetery under the direction of Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Floydada.
The family suggests memorials to a charity of choice.
