Mrs. Jennie Hutchins, 93, widow of Delos Hutchins, a Civil War veteran, died at 10:45 a.m. Sunday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Harry Minty, at 111 Cherry.

She was born Sept. 18, 1851, in Mitchell, Canada, one of 15 children of William and Eliza (Roe) Trethrake. She resided in the Sonoma neighborhood for many years, but for the last 30 years made her home in Battle Creek. Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Maud Minty; a sister, Mrs. Naomi Fowles of 809 Northeast Capital Avenue, and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the First Spiritual Church, the Woman's Relief Corps, and the Three-Quarter Century Club.
