Lester R. Beckwith, 77, Dies at Myers-rd Home

Lester R. Beckwith, 77 passed away at 3:15 a.m. today (15 Dec 1941) at his home on N. Myers-rd, following a two months' illness.

He was born in Saybrook, on Oct. 29, 1864, the son of William Riley Beckwith and Adeline Stephens Beckwith. On Dec. 24 1885, Mr. Beckwith was united in marriage with Mabel Jeffers of Saybrook. They lived in Saybrook until March 4, 1903, then moving to the home on Myers-rd. Mrs. Beckwith died April 8, 1938.

The deceased was a member of the North Star Grange and the Geneva Lodge No. 294, I. O. O. F.

Surviving are two sons, Leonard S., who resided with his father on N. Myers-rd, and Dr. Sydney J. Beckwith of Ashtabula, one brother, Alden R. of Center-rd, Saybrook; a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Landon Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, with Rev. C.E. Rostofer of the Park-st Church of Christ, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home at any time. Burial will be made in Center-rd Cemetery, Saybrook.
