Myrtle "Myrt" Belle Hill Crumley of Austin, Texas passed away on February 13, 2012 in Angleton, Texas. Myrt arrived in this world on May 13, 1939 in the small community of Old Salty, Texas. She was the third child of Bascum and Minnie Hill.
Myrt was raised on a family farm near Thorndale, Texas. After graduating from Thorndale High in 1957 she moved to Austin. It was there that she met and married William Edward Crumley. They were blessed with two children, Curtis Glenn and Karen Joyce. Before becoming a stay at home wife and mother Myrt had worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell. Later she worked as a PBX operator at Bank of Austin and Xerox Corporation.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, William Crumley and her son, Curtis Glenn Crumley. She is survived by one daughter, Karen Joyce Frazer and one grandchild, Chelsea Renee' Frazer of Lake Jackson, Texas. Other survivors are three sisters, Louise Chesser and husband John of Sherman, Texas, Carlie Herbert and husband Paul of Oakwood, Texas, and Marie Adams of Manor, Texas, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation to be held from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, Pflugerville. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Oscar James. Graveside services will be held at 2:15 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery.
