Catherine 'Cassie' Victoria Burroughs Bartlett was the daughter of William Jesse Burroughs and Priscilla Breeden Burroughs. Cassie was born on the family's Hickory Grove farm in Jasper County, Iowa. She grew up in Grinnell, Iowa where she attended grade school and also Iowa College at Grinnell.
Cassie Burroughs married Arthur W. Bartlett on November 6, 1889. Cassie was the mother of Paul Burroughs Bartlett, who was born on April 15, 1892.
Cassie died the same day that her first child was born.
Cassie was the sister of Richard Jesse Burroughs, William Henry Burroughs, John Lockhart Burroughs, Melinda (Linnie) Mae Burroughs Rose, Alfred Burroughs, Susan (Susie) Burroughs Child, Pearl Mary Burroughs Bartlett, Sarah (Sadie) Priscilla Burroughs Adams, and William Arthur Burroughs.
Cassie was well-known and well-liked among the residents of Grinnell, and her untimely death must have been very sad to all who knew her.
