Doris Olivia Matthews [sic Mathews] Doremire of Lumberton, Texas went to join her Heavenly Father, her husband, Leonard, her parents Robert and Fannie Matthews, and many other friends and family on October 15, 2007.

Born in Winnfield on August 27, 1922 where she lived until the late 40's when the family moved to New Orleans. She was an active church member and a member of Eastern Star. She and her family moved to Alaska in 1961 where they had a homestead. She loved clearing the land to make a home. Around the early 70's, she moved back home to Louisiana living there until she moved to Texas where she remained until her death.

She is survived by her children- William Alvin Dickerson, Jr. of Shreveport, La.; Linda Dickerson of Jasper, Texas; Annette and Lee Youngblood of Lake Charles, La.; Donna Deters of Buna, Texas; Pam and Bobby Blake of Woodville, Texas; Wanda Doremire of Lumberton, Texas; Susan Boyd of Seattle, Washington

She also leaves 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives.

Funeral services were held at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield, La. at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 17, 2007. Burial was at the Sardis Cemetery.

Her grandsons served as pallbearers.

She will be missed by many.
