Pusey Noal McGee graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1917 and married Helen Julia Robinson on January 20, 1920. He was a disabled veteran of WWI and received the Purple Heart while serving with the U.S. Army Balloon Corps in France. He suffered with his battle injuries and the resultant Parkinson Disease that required hospitalization in Veterans Hospitals in Leavenworth, KS and Marshalltown, IA from the early 1930's until his death. Pusey and his wife Helen were the parents of two sons; Roland Pusey and Donald Jack McGee.
