Ernestine Bell Owens, age 83, of Houston, Texas died Saturday, July 11, 2009. Mrs. Owens was born on September 16, 1925 to Maudie Robinson and Ernest Thomas Bell in Anderson County. She was a longtime resident of Palestine, Kenedy and Victoria, and had lived in Houston since 2005. Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bennie Lee Owens; and a son, Randall Arvel "Randy" Bennett. She is survived by her sons, Timothy Thomas "Tommy" Bennett and wife Connie, and Brian Owens and wife Vickie; grandchildren, Linda, Randa, Cathy, Amy, Jason, and Jaren; and three great-grandchildren, Tori, Kaitlin and Caden. Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at the Forest Grove Christian Church in Lexington, followed by a graveside service in the Forest Grove Cemetery located directly behind the church. Arrangements were under the direction of Earthman Funeral Directors, Hunters Creek, Houston, Texas 713-465-8900.

Note: the obituary gives the cemetery location as Lexington but her husband is buried in Forest Grove in Rockdale, Texas. I could not find any record of a Forest Grove Cemetery in Lexington.
