Mrs. Gentry came to Texas from Chicago, Illinois, as a child with her parents settling first at Waco, Texas. In 1902, she moved with her family to Stamford, Texas.
Sidney Lewis Gentry married Miss Annie Hoffman on 29 April 1904 at her parent's home in Stamford, Texas. He preceded her in death.
Survived by three sons - Everett " Smokey " Lewis Gentry, Sidney Roy Gentry, Paul Ray Gentry; three daughters - Mrs. C.A. Baucum, Mrs. E.J. Whaley, Mrs. Dan L. Littlefield; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother - Eddie Hoffman.
