EDWARD BEERY KILLS HIMSELF WITH SHOTGUN

Despondent Laborer Commits Suicide Early Today Near Decatur

DECATUR, Ind., Aug 29 - Edward W. Beery, 46, a laborer residing east of Decatur, ended his life at 6:30 o'clock this morning by shooting himself in the mouth with a shot gun.  He placed the muzzle of the gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger with his toe.

Despondency over inability to get work is said to be the cause of Beery's act.  Three years ago he was gassed while working in a Decatur garage and had been in poor health since.

Surviving are the widow, formerly Leota Gilpin, and three children, Jeanette, John and Kenneth.  A sister, Mrs. C. H. Kolter, of Kendallville, and three brothers, W. F. Beery, of Decatur; Freeman Beery, of Connersville, and Sherman beery of Jackson, Mich., also survive.

The funeral arrangements had not been made this afternoon.
