Mount Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church Record: W. W. Smith received by Experience on September 6, 1879.

AND...

Mount Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church Record - Saturday, October 2, 1880: 6th. Miscellany. Whereas this church believes that Brother W. W. Smith possesses the gift of exhortation, therefore on motion, we the church at Mount Pisgah do hereby grant said Brother the privilege of exercising his gift wherever in the providence of God his lot may be cast.
==========
"The Gospel Messenger", Volume 17, No. 6 – June 1895:

W. W. Smith, Sr. - Was born in Putnam County, Ga., December 6th, 1832, married first to Miss Elmira Rampey, in 1855; the second time to Miss Eliza Brooks June 1877; and died at his home in Stroud, Chambers County, Ala., March 4th, 1895, and was interred at Mount Pisgah Cemetery, in the presence of a large concourse of relatives and friends; funeral services were conducted by the writer.
In early life Brother Smith united with the Congregational Methodists, and was set apart by them to preach.
So far as I know he lived in fellowship with them, and preached for them a number of years. He afterwards became dissatisfied with the church of which he was a member and preacher.
In September 1879, he offered for membership at Mount Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church, and was received, and baptized by Elder J. E. Jackson.
Brother Smith was ordained to the office of deacon, and licensed to preach by the church at Mount Pisgah, but was never ordained to the ministry. Brother Smith like all the rest of Adam's sinful race had his faults, and at times, it seems the tempter would almost over come him, and cause him many bitter regrets. But his great desire was "to live and walk with Jesus."
I have often heard him say, that if there were nothing beyond this life for the saint to enjoy; the seasons of rejoicing the Christian had, while in the discharge of his duty in this life was enough to amply pay him for all the trials and conflicts we have to pass through in this mortal life. But he looked for, and hoped for, joys greater than the fore tasted we have here.
Brother Smith is now free from all the consequences of sin. I believe him now to be numbered among the throng of those redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. He leaves a companion and several children to mourn the loss, to them, of one whose place can never be filled on earth.
And may God bless and comfort them, and may all be prepared by grace to meet their dear one in the bright Elysian of everlasting joy, is my prayer.
