Andrew Koresko Jr., 94 of Aledo, died Thursday June 18, 2009, in Aledo, Illinois. He was born August 8, 1914, in Matherville, Illinois; a son of Elizabeth (Jensur) and Andrew Koresko.

He attended Viola schools and married Amy L. Gustafson on April 26, 1936, in Aledo. She died September 12, 2003.

Andrew was employed by Koresko Coal, Schuler Coal, John Deere Wagon Works, International Harvester, and the Shale City Brickyard. He farmed for over 60 years with his sons.

He was a lifetime member of Messiah Lutheran Church and a member of the Mercer County Farm Bureau.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; a son, Donald; and an infant daughter, Helen; a grandson, Kevin; three sisters; Anne, Helen and Margaruite, two brothers, John and Samuel; a son-in-law, Cal, and a daughter-in-law, Marda.

He is survived by: three daughters; Carol Hanson of Rock Island; Doris (Tom) Swinburn of East Moline; and Donna (Bill) Pinger of Keithsburg; two sons:; Keith (Opal) Koresko of Salem, IA; and Philip (Nancy) Koresko of Aledo; a daughter-in-law, Joydene Koresko of Aledo; 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
