Actor. Born Ernest Lytton Forwood, he took the stage name Anthony before he married in 1942. He and fellow actor Glynis Johns had one son, Gareth Forwood, who also became an actor. The couple divorced before his film debut in 1949's "Traveler's Joy." He followed with a role in "Man in Black," released that same year. Other films included "Appointment in London" (1952) with Dirk Bogarde, which was probably his most memorable role; that of 'Will Scarlett' in that year "The Story of Robin Hood and his Merrie Men," "Knights of the Round Table," and "Mantrap" (1953), and his final film appearance in "Colonel March of Scotland Yard." He then retired from the screen and spent the remainder of his career as Dirk Bogarde's manager. In 1987, he was diagnosed with liver cancer and succumbed a year later at the age of 72.
