Lyman Dart Anderson was the son of Andrew and Martha Ann Graham Anderson. Lyman was born in Millville and attended the local schools. He was a veteran of World War I and later helped build the first oiled roads in Millville. He also did road work in Logan Canyon.

He married Edith Loretta Qualman Johnson November 16, 1933, at Soda Springs, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. She was born October 14, 1899, in Central, Idaho, to Fredrick John and Edith Amelia Rosedahl Qualman. She had previously married Artie Nicholas (Jack) Johnson on March 10, 1924; and they had three children before his death on August 30, 1930.

After Loretta's marriage to Lyman, she and her children moved into Lyman's three-room log house in Millville.

Lyman served as a home teacher and stake missionary in the Hyrum Stake.

Loretta taught Primary and was a visiting teacher for many years. She worked during the summers at California Packing Company. She was a loving mother and a dedicated homemaker. She died March 2, 1963, and is buried near Lyman in Millville Cemetery.

Children of Artie Johnson and Loretta Qual­man are: Edith Joy (died at birth), Alice Aloma Hammond, Oma Dorine O'Neil and Sheldon Artie.

Children of Lyman Anderson and Loretta Qualman Johnson are: Lyman Val, Leon Fredrick, Leone Andrew, Sydney Dean and Sylvan Wesley (died in infancy).
