The death of Samuel Gingery occurred Monday, February 6, 1911 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leon Votrain after an illness of three days from pneumonia. Mrs. Gingery was a resident of Phillipsburg, Kansas and came here two weeks ago to visit his daughter.
Samuel Gingery was born in Bellefountain, Ohio in March 1839 and was married in 1873 to Jennie Aumock of Oconee, Illinois. She died in April 1897. Three daughters and four sons survive: Mrs. Leon Votrain of White Heath; Mrs. J. H. Hott of Wichita KS; Mrs. Flora Stanley of Cedar Rapids IA; Furman of Sampson MO; Roy of California and Clyde of Ohio.
The deceased was a veteran of the Civil War, having enlisted in Company C of the 13th Ohio Regiment and was a member of the G.A.R. post at Wichita KS.
Funeral services were held in the M. E. Church Wednesday morning at ten o'clock, conducted by Rev. McIntosh and the burial was in the White Heath cemetery (Camp Creek, Sangamon Twp, Piatt Co.).
